Pathway to Containment in Art Therapy
This project was developed using Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs theory. First, support clients to asses needs they may have barriers. Second, teach and offer coping tools as needed. Third, ask clients to project these barriers and coping tools in to a creative art project. Clients can choose variety of art mediums to work with such as clay, canvas, or objects. Then add symbols, props and images. Finish by processing
the experiences in a journal. The therapeutic process of this project encourages insights and increases self-perceptions oneself.
